Search alternative departure airports
This is like the Greek Islands Trick but on the departure side. Say you live in Philadelphia and flights to Copenhagen are out of your price range. Look for fares from New York or Boston instead. If they’re significantly cheaper, it could be worth the drive or train ride to get there for the transatlantic leg of your journey.

Others can access the lounge for 210 DKK, or about $30. The CPH Apartment Lounge is furnished with modern Danish furniture and offers food and a full bar. Access is 249 DKK, or about $36. The Carlsberg Aviator Lounge offers Nordic tapas, beer, wine, and spirits, served on tables made of recycled beer kegs. Access is DKK 199, or about $29.
In Terminal 3, the Eventyr Lounge features furniture from Danish brands Erik Jørgensen and Hay. There are showers, a full bar, hot meals, baked goods, free wifi, and 170 seats. Some British Airways, Emirates, Delta, and Norwegian passengers get complimentary access to the lounge. Others can purchase entry for 300 DKK, or about $43.
The SAS Lounge has a cold buffet, free wifi, computers and printers, showers, and meeting rooms. There’s also a Panasonic innovation hub where visitors can test Panasonic products. First class and business class passengers traveling with SAS have access to the lounge. The SAS Gold Lounge has similar amenities, plus a “Daylight Booster Zone” with ultralight therapy to help during Denmark’s long, dark days. There are also private rooms with showers and beds. This lounge is only available for SAS Gold cardholders.
What are the rules for traveling with pets to CPH?

There are a number of options to get from CPH to Copenhagen.
- By taxi: The roughly five-mile trip from CPH to the city center takes about 20 minutes in light traffic. Taxi stands are available outside of Terminal 1 and 3 and cost $35–$40. Uber and Lyft do not operate in Denmark.
- By public transportation: Trains depart from the airport every 10 minutes during the day and every 20 in the evening. The ride to the city’s Central Station takes 15 minutes and costs about $45. The metro also runs from the airport. You can take it to Kongens Nytorv, then change to line M3, which circles the city. Tickets are the same price as the train.
