Meet the Team: Nicole Ransom

Tell us about you! (Where are you from, hobbies/interests, things you do outside of work!)

Hi there! I’m Nicole. I’m a born and raised Texan who is currently living in New York! When I’m not designing, you will find me working on a new creative hobby (currently: quilting), cooking a new recipe, cuddling with my dog, at a Barre class, or soaking up the sun at my nearest park.

What does a Graphic Designer do anyway? How did you get into Marketing?

As a Graphic Designer at Going, I spend my days working collaboratively with teams across the company to bring our ideas to reality. From emails to company merch, I work on a wide variety of projects. My job is to help bring our brand to life across all these channels. Our brand is constantly evolving, so there is always room for creativity and exploring new ideas!

What's your favorite thing about your role here at Going?

There are so many things that make Going a wonderful place to work, but one of the most unexpected perks is constantly being surrounded by travel inspiration! Whether it’s from an amazing deal that we found or a coworker sharing their most recent adventure, I am constantly inspired to book my next trip. Before working at Going, I had never traveled abroad, but in less than a year here, I have already booked two international trips and countless domestic trips. I can’t wait to see what else is in store!

What advice would you give to a candidate interested in working at Going?

Share what makes you unique! Our team is made up of so many amazing people who each bring a different expertise and perspective. We want to get to know what makes you unique and how that could fit into our team.

What brought you to Going in the first place? What's your why (why Going?)?

Like most people, I love to travel but was often intimidated by the price tag associated with it. I was drawn to Going because of the mission to help more people travel and explore the world through cheap flights. I absolutely love reading all of the stories from members about the amazing trips they have taken because of a deal from Going!

What country do you most want to visit and why?

France! I have never been to Europe, but I especially want to go to France to visit my sister. She is a performing artist in a circus traveling around France this year. I have this trip booked for later this year, but it can’t come soon enough!!

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I always wanted to be a veterinarian! As far back as I can remember, I have adored animals and was very passionate about doing all I could to help them live their best lives. Funny enough, my passion for animals is actually what led me to find my love for graphic design. I volunteered for an animal rescue that needed design help, and once I saw that I could use my creative skills to help the causes I am passionate about, I was hooked!
