Building Daily Habits That Actually Stick

Most habits fail not from lack of willpower but because they are too big, too vague, or tied to nothing in your existing day.

Shrink the habit until it feels almost too easy: two minutes of stretching, one page of reading, a single glass of water before coffee. Consistency builds identity, and the habit can grow later.

Anchor it to something you already do. "After I brush my teeth, I will write one line in a journal" works better than "I'll journal every evening."

Make progress visible with a simple calendar or checklist, and plan for missed days. The rule many people find helpful is never to miss twice in a row; one slip is normal, two starts a new pattern.
